As of today I have been unable to download a file from Dropbox onto my PC. I've also noticed that the Desktop app hasn't synced in 9 days. This issue is occurring on 2 different PCs and on different browsers. Windows 10 and 11. It keeps saying there was an error downloading your file.61Views0likes2CommentsCannot open downloaded files
I have a number of JPG files which show up on my PC in my Dropbox folder but I am unable to open, however if I log onto my account online I can open them there. When I look at the file properties it shows up as 3.85MB but says size on disk as 0 bytes. Is it saying that my download is only a pointer and if so how can I change it. It must be said that this does not apply to all my JPG files only someSolved24Views0likes3Comments“Failed to download folder” error when trying to download content from a shared link.
Hi Dropbox Support, I’m reaching out for assistance regarding an issue I’ve encountered while trying to download folders that were shared with me. Despite having a Dropbox Professional account, I’m repeatedly receiving a “Failed to download folder” error—even when the folder only contains 2 small files. I’m aware of the 20,000-item and 20 GB download limits, but the folders I’m attempting to download are well below that threshold. Could you please advise what might be causing this error and how I can successfully download the shared folders? Thank you in advance for your support.58Views0likes3CommentsThe 'download' button on the web fails or is unresponsive but only for one shared folder
I just got sent a shared folder. I keep hitting the 'download folder' and it is non responsive like I haven't clicked anything at all. I try individual files and those give me a notice 'failed to download'. No reason why. All other folders I have access to are responsive, only seems to be this folder. I've cleared cache and cookies which did not fix the issue.37Views0likes3CommentsSyncing large video folders stops in the middle when trying to sync them.
I’m running into a frustrating issue with Dropbox on my iMac (Ventura 13.7.5). When I try to sync large video folders (~200GB) via the desktop app, the sync process starts but then stops partway through. I often return to find it paused or inactive. I have to manually click the cloud/arrow icon to resume syncing—and sometimes repeat this multiple times before the folder fully syncs. This makes the process unreliable for large transfers. Additionally, when I try to download large folders from Dropbox via the browser, the process usually fails when it attempts to create the ZIP file. Is this a known limitation with Dropbox and large video files, or is there a workaround or setting adjustment I should be aware of? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.60Views0likes4CommentsExport a list of files in shared folders
Experts, I'm in a Family Plan working on a book project with 2 other users. Part of my job is to cross check a number of text and caption files for references to (roughly) 800 pictures. The image files are in directories "owned" by the respective users. To do the cross checks I need a current list of all the image file names. I gather from reading the Community that Dropbox does not support this unless one writes/finds/uses API code with that function. I am hoping for an easier way. I've read that the recommended easy way is to synchronize my desktop to the required directories and then use regular system listing and sorting commands. To be safe I don't want write access via the synchronized desktop directories/files. All I want and need is a way to do a listing of the contents of the directories via a read access. Can somebody tell me if this can be done and how? Thank you, Mike1.4KViews0likes5CommentsAllow downloading of Dropbox Replay videos by default
A way to have my account BY DEFAULT allow users to download videos I post, rather than needing to go into each video/folder and enabling downloads? As a rule I want my clients to be able to download my videos so it would be a nice time-saver if I didn't need to go into these settings every single time I start a new project.99Views1like3Comments
