Saving image to Dropbox in iOS saves as URL
On iOS, when I save an image from Safari to the Dropbox app, before saving, the file name shows as a url file (and saves as a URL). I suspect today’s update causes this, because I was able to do this last night.
I long press on an image > share > save to Dropbox
At this step, the expanded menu recognizes the file type is an image, vs me mistaking it for an image, where it could be another file type. I’ve closed Safari, Dropbox and turned my phone off and on, issue persists.

Is there an estimate/sprint/idea of when this might be fixed? It’s part of my daily workflow and has been broken for a month now.

Hi Jay, the issue is resolved! Saving images in Safari on iOS to the Dropbox app now works as expected. Thank you all.

Hi everyone, thanks for reporting this behavior, our team is aware of this behavior.
In the meantime, could you try the following workarounds to save files/images, each bullet point is a different way of saving the file:
- Select 'Copy' then go to the Dropbox app and hit '+' -> 'Paste'.
- Hit "Save Photo" and then upload via '+' > 'Upload photos'.
- Copy the URL and open it in Safari then use the 'Share' button inside Safari (when on the file and not long-pressing it'll save the file itself).
We appreciate your patience on this matter.

Using 420.2.2, on both iPad and iPhone, images and pdf’s append .url to the .jpeg file name when using Safari. File saves as .url.

Hey mettaworldwill, I just tested this on my Dropbox app, version 420.2.2 and the file was saved as a .PNG file.
Which Dropbox version are you using?
You can see that by opening the app, tapping on "account" and then on the gear icon at the top right corner.
